I just wrapped a one-day music video shoot for the Smashing Pumpkins, featuring their upcoming single G.L.O.W. that will be released for the game Guitar Hero. The director of photography (Brett Pawlak, shown below) shot the video with my complete Red Package. Pawlak had previously shot a short film (see earlier post) with my camera back in March. I served as DIT/Red Tech and can say this: the video is going to rock!

Nearly every day someone contacts me about a short film, often a thesis project, but rarely have they seemed as well-prepared as the crew I had the pleasure of working with last week. The film was Psytrix, the tale of a paranoid hitman by writer/director Rohin Katthula. I provided my basic Red Package and lenses, along with DIT services.

RED in Kazakhstan

I sent a Red camera to Kazakhstan, the largest land-locked country in the world, to shoot a feature for the next 9 weeks. Steadicam operator Tanner Stauss went along as well, to serve as a Red Tech and to operate my ActionCam rig. However, I have many Reds and my full indie filmmaking kit is available.

Swan’s Furlough Moves Forward

I am currently in development on Swan’s Furlough, a feature I will direct in the fall. The lead actor is cast and the script is about 60-70% complete. I plan to use this section to post significant updates as they occur.

Just completed principle photography on Stacy’s Mom, a comedy produced by Monumental Features and directed by Patrick Sayre. I provided the RED camera, onsite support and still photography services. The production went quite well and hopefully we’ll be seeing this movie in a theater near you very soon!

The Refrigerator

The Refrigerator, a short film by Jim Revis and starring Simon Sorrells, has finally completed post. It was edited by the 533′s Robert Dahlem. During the 5-day production back in March, I provided my complete Indie Filmmaking Kit, including the RED camera. I also served as DIT and 2nd AC.
